DCCR Multi-Factor Authentication – June 2026
On 29 June 2026, a system change will be applied to the DCCR that will add Multi-Factor Authentication [MFA] as a login requirement for some DCCR Web Portal users (subject to their network connection).
Introducing MFA is an important step in strengthening data security and protecting sensitive patient information, helping to ensure continued compliance with information governance and cyber security standards.
This MFA function has been set up as a requirement for organisations who DO NOT connect using a Launch in Context system and are NOT connecting via the Health and Social Care Network [HSCN].
Organisations affected by this change will have received an email informing them of this new requirement which also included guidance on the MFA set-up process. This guidance document can also be found on our training page.
Affected users will automatically be prompted to set up MFA upon their first DCCR login after the change has been applied on 29 June 2026. The user(s) will need to have access to a compatible authenticator application on a mobile device to obtain an authentication code upon each DCCR login from this date.
